Hulk Hogan Claims He Expected To Be Booed At WWE Raw On Netflix Premiere
Hulk Hogan on being booed
Feb 4, 2025
One of the biggest stories following the WWE Raw premiere on Netflix was that Hulk Hogan was booed out of the building by the fans in the Intuit Dome, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with Hogan's promo promoting WWE, Netflix, and his Real American Beer.
Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Hogan claimed that his WCW run in the nWo and politics were behind him being booed in Los Angeles.
"Oh, I did [expect to get booed]. You've got to realise, the last time I ran hard in LA, I was a bad guy. I was Hollywood Hogan, man. I was riding dirty with the boys - you know, [Kevin] Nash and [Scott] Hall. And we're spray painting people and we're crotch chopping everybody. Started out with the Too Sweet stuff. So last time I was there, I was a heel. But I think the politics had a whole lot to do with it, like you said," Hogan said.
Despite this claim, Hulk Hogan last wrestled for WCW in Los Angeles at the LA Forum in August 1999. At this point, Hogan was back to wearing his yellow trunks, although he would later turn heel again in World Championship Wrestling. His most recent appearance near Los Angeles came for WWE in 2005 on a June episode of Monday Night Raw when he was fully back to the red and yellow attire.
While referencing the nWo and politics, Pat McAfee alluded to "other stuff" potentially leading to Hogan being booed. The "other stuff" was likely Hogan's history of making racist comments.
"Yeah, of course. You do slip and fall a couple times," Hogan added.
Had he not been on the show promoting his Real American Beer, Hogan revealed he would have liked to have flipped to his Hollywood Hogan gimmick and cut a promo on the fans inside the Intuit Dome.
When Hogan will next be on WWE TV is unknown. He was planned for the January 25 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event but his appearance was reportedly cancelled due to him attending his son Nick Hogan's wedding.
