JBL Loves Mr. Iguana

Ever since he emerged at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide 2025, the whole world has seemed to love Mr. Iguana. WWE saw the wildfire he was causing online, reportedly immediately looking at ways to merchandise the wrestler, with news emerging this week that he was close to agreeing a deal to ensure that he has more appearances on WWE programming going forwards. 

Someone else who loves Mr. Iguana is JBL, who has been frequently working in AAA in recent times as a heelish character. Calling Mr. Iguana a “merch bonanza”, he explained more about his feelings on the Something To Wrestle With podcast. 

“I love Mr. Iguana. That kid is awesome. He is so funny. He’s an iguana fan. He’s not just, I mean, this isn’t just some bullsh*t gimmick that he’s carrying around. I mean, he knows all about iguanas. This comes out of a passion that he has… I agree with you, this is a merch bonanza. Yes, this kid, they’re going to sell so many frequent iguanas. And it’s not just because he’s got a colorful look and a colorful little iguana that goes with it. It’s because of him… That kid has gotten over in Mexico. I’ve watched him every time I go down there… He can work. He can do all this crazy stuff. The people love him.”

After comments made about bypassing NXT and heading straight to the main roster, reports emerged in the week of Mr. Iguana potentially receiving some heat in WWE, so many not everyone loves Mr. Iguana.
