Jim Johnston Offered To Do Entrance Music For AEW

The man responsible for many iconic WWE themes offered to compose for the competition

Jim Johnston, the man behind some of WWE's most iconic theme songs, has offered to do music for All Elite Wrestling.

Johnston worked for WWE for 32 years, before being released in 2017. Since then, he hasn't shown much interest in working in the industry, though he does retain an interest in wrestling.

During a recent appearance on Conversations with Conrad, Johnston noted that he had reached out to AEW about composing some themes for them.

"I actually approached AEW at one point to write some themes for them, with no interest. Now the way I approached [it], it's very possible the people in charge never got that memo. I'd be happy to write some themes for them. I'd be happy to write some themes for WWE, but I would never want to get as immersed as I was," he said.

The man responsible for the themes of The Undertaker, DX, Stone Cold Steve Austin and others also bemoaned the current state of entrance music in wrestling, saying:

"What does this music have to do with anything? We've gone from a time when you could be cooking in the kitchen, and the TV's two rooms away, and you could tell who's coming out to the ring. And now it's noise to me. I don't understand how did that transition happen where it seemed to just get down to the pure, noisy spectacle of it all, and we kind of lost that magic of, it's all about character and storyline"

Johnston has previously questioned why AEW didn't reach out to him as a way of 'sticking it' to WWE.
