Mercedes Moné Says Match With Kris Statlander Was Her Second Favourite Ever

Mercedes Moné has been in the ring with some of the best women’s wrestlers in WWE history, doing battle with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Asuka, Becky Lynch and more over the years. Since arriving in AEW, the TBS Champion has faced the likes of Willow Nightingale, Stephanie Vaquer, and Hikaru Shida, but her match at Full Gear 2024 stood out to her. 

Speaking in her Moné Mag, she discussed facing Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship, stating that it might well have been her second favourite match ever. 

“Wow! What an incredible night at AEW Full Gear! I’m still buzzing from the electrifying atmosphere and the unforgettable matches that unfolded, but there’s one moment that has etched itself into my heart and mind — the jaw-dropping showdown between me and Kris Statlander. It might just be my second favorite match of my entire career!”

Continuing, she expressed great appreciation for the atmosphere in the arena, saying that she’ll never forget the energy and reaction of the crowd. She went on to say it was a great honour to be a part of the longest women’s match in AEW history to date. Jim Ross commented last week, stating it was Moné's best match in AEW to date.
