MJF To Keep Working Dates For AEW Despite Injury
MJF will work through his injuries
Dec 2, 2023
In a now deleted tweet earlier this week, MJF revealed he had a torn labrum among other injuries, which he also delved into during a promo on AEW Dynamite, revealing his hip, knee, and shoulder were all hurt. Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed where those injuries came about, and what he will be doing in the aftermath of suffering them.
His two main ailments came in his match with Jay White - his shoulder being hurt in a top rope uranage and his hip being damaged when MJF hit an elbow drop to the floor from the top rope. MJF won’t be getting surgery, instead he will be working on stem cell therapy and rehabilitation, whilst still working for AEW in between.
MJF is of course the reigning AEW World Champion and set to defend his title at the Worlds End PPV against Samoa Joe, whilst also being scheduled for a tag team match on Dynamite next week. The belief is that before the PPV, MJF can have “careful matches or smoke & mirror matches” to help protect his body from further damage.
