Next NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title Defence Revealed

Nick Aldis is set to put the 10lbs of gold on the line once again

Fresh from defeating Trevor Murdoch, NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis already has to refocus and go again, with his next defence of the 10 pounds of gold scheduled for July 24 at The Gathering in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Aldis will once again face off with Murdoch, with their previous title encounter at When Our Shadows Fall marred in controversy, with Murdoch getting the champ in the Texas Cloverleaf but subsequently being DQ’d by the referee for striking Aldis with a chain.

Nick Aldis has reigned as champion for a little under 1000 days, after reclaiming the belt from Cody Rhodes at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show in 2018. Aldis’ two reigns with the belt have him currently sat as the sixth longest reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion at over 1250 days and counting, a mere 2500 days off of Lou Thesz in number one at 3,749 days.

The Gathering is a four day celebration of wrestlings past and present, and will feature the likes of Ted DiBiase, Barry Windham, Eric Bischoff, and others.
