The card for New Japan Pro-Wrestling's next major event in Japan - New Beginning in Osaka - has been revealed.
Following the events of Wrestle Kingdom 19, Wrestle Dynasty, and New Year Dash!! it has been confirmed that Hirooki Goto will challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Goto earned the title shot by winning the New Japan Ranbo at Wrestle Kingdom 19.
The match will continue a resurgence for Goto that began with him reaching the New Japan Cup final in 2024. The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion then looked set to defeat David Finlay for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title at October's King of Pro-Wrestling but Finlay ultimately defeated Goto as Goto's own children watched on from ringside.
New Beginning in Osaka will be the first time Goto has challenged for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. He hasn't challenged for NJPW's top title, previously the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, since 2016.
Gabe Kidd will also challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title. Tsuji captured the belt from David Finlay at Wrestle Kingdom 19, while Kidd earned plaudits in defeat against Kenny Omega at Wrestle Dynasty.
The Young Bucks will also be in action at New Beginning in Osaka when they put the IWGP Tag Team Titles on the line against Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi.
New Beginning in Osaka will emanate from EDION Arena Osaka on February 11. The card is as follows:

- The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi - IWGP Tag Team Championships
- Ichiban Sweet Boys (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita) (c) vs. Roppongi ReVice (YOH & Rocky Romero) - IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
- Taichi vs. SANADA
- Shota Umino vs. Great-O-Khan
- Shingo Takagi vs. Drilla Moloney
- Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Togi Makabe
