Notes On AEW's Memphis Wrestling Tribute For This Wednesday's Dynamite
Legends will be honored...
Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from the Landers Center in Southaven, MS, situated a mere 13 miles away from Memphis. On the night, AEW will pay tribute to the legends of the Memphis wrestling territory.
Those being honored on the broadcast include Angelo Poffo and Randy Savage, announcer Lance Russell, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, Tommy Gilbert, Brian Christopher, Austin Idol, announcer Dave Brown, The Rock and Roll Express, and "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant.
According to Dave Meltzer, Lanny Poffo will be there to honor father Angelo and brother Randy. Russell will be represented by son Shane, while Doug Gilbert will represent father Tommy and brother Eddie.
Additionally, Dave Brown will provide guest commentary alongside Excalibur for the evening's taping of AEW Dark.
In addition to the honoring of Memphis legends, four matches are currently slated for Wednesday's show:
*Cody and Dustin Rhodes vs. The Lucha Bros
*AEW Women's: Riho (c) vs. Kris Statlander
*Christopher Daniels vs. Sammy Guevara
*Hangman Page and Kenny Omega vs. Private Party
Plus, Jon Moxley makes his decision on Chris Jericho's offer to have him join The Inner Circle
