Numerous WWE Talents Upset About CM Punk's Return At Survivor Series

CM Punk's WWE return has left a number of talent upset

CM Punk's return to WWE has divided opinion within the locker room.

The 45-year-old made his shocking return to WWE in the closing moments of Survivor Series, making his first appearance in the company since Royal Rumble 2014. Punk briefly appeared following the men's WarGames match and celebrated with the fans inside Chicago's Allstate Arena as Survivor Series went off the air.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins looked visibly upset with CM Punk's return following the end of Survivor Series, having to be held back by Michael Cole and Corey Graves as he yelled expletives at Punk and gave him the middle finger. Drew McIntyre was also upset and he stormed out of the Allstate Arena following the show, although it is unknown why exactly McIntyre was angry.

There was some speculation that Punk's return was kept such a secret that talent in the main event didn't know about it. That is not the case, according to Fightful Select, and wrestlers were pulled aside before WarGames at which point they were informed that Punk's return would be happening in the final moments of Survivor Series.

Fightful further noted "there are numerous talent on the roster in general upset". At least one talent claimed to be legitimately upset over Punk's return and there have been claims that Rollins and McIntyre's reactions to the return were genuine, although those claims would be made for obvious reasons.

Some talent, meanwhile, are excited about Punk's return while others are curious and experiencing about every emotion under the sun.

Punk is reportedly signed with WWE for several years and he signed with the company on November 25 in the hours ahead of Survivor Series.

Prior to his WWE return, CM Punk spent two years with All Elite Wrestling. Listen to the full CM Punk-AEW story through PUNKVEMBER on the Cultaholic Wrestling podcast feed.
