PCO Confirms Scrapped AEW Plans

PCO reveals that he was supposed to face a major AEW star in 2022.

IMPACT Wrestling's PCO - otherwise known as former WWE, WCW and ROH star Pierre Carl Ouellet - has revealed that he was supposed to appear in AEW last year. His comments came during a recent virtual Facebook signing for K & S WrestleFest.

Although he didn't specify that the match would take place on an AEW show, PCO revealed that he was set to face Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship in Chicago, Illinois. Jericho held the title between September and December 2022, and in that time defended the belt in Chicago on an episode of AEW Dynamite, defeating New Japan star Tomohiro Ishii.

On the match that never was, PCO explained:

"[There was a] match I was supposed to have with Jericho, but I couldn’t do it because I had a staph infection in my elbow. That never came through. I was really, really pumped for that match. ROH Title in Chicago. It didn’t come through but I was really, really pumped for that match [...] I thrive on that pressure. When there’s a match that means something to me where I’m excited about that match, I thrive on that, you know? It’s really exciting for me."
