CM Punk recently spoke of his distaste of the term ‘moveset’, just several days after Hangman Page used the term in a social media post taking aim at Logan Paul.
Due to animosity between Punk and Page during their time together in All Elite Wrestling, many took Punk’s comments on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event pre-show as a dig at Hangman, with Peter Rosenberg suggesting on the Hans, Franz, and Rosenberg podcast that it was meant as a shot at a wrestler:
"Then I said, 'the moveset,' did you hear the first words out of his mouth? 'Don't say moveset.' Moveset is like insider dumb lingo. It just came out of my mouth because it's in there. I wouldn't normally say it, but like, Punk is A, a d***. I say that lovingly. He's A, a d***. B, it is an annoying thing that I said. C, apparently, I've learned, there is some history with him and someone else and that word, that I don't even know about," said Rosenberg, who made the initial comment when talking about WWE Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware.
The conversation continued, with Rosenberg adding the following when the clip of Punk calling wrestlers who use the term ‘idiots’ aired on the podcast:
"There, he's talking about, I don't know that he's dissing someone else. In this moment, he is specifically dissing a wrestler. I'm thinking it's at me. 'Come on Punk, I thought we were cool,'" said Rosenberg.
Punk had previously aired his distaste for the term on X/Twitter in 2021.
