Popular Act Splits On WWE NXT

A big split on WWE NXT this week

One of WWE NXT's most popular acts is no more.

There had been speculation that Trick Williams would turn on Carmelo Hayes, with that being the most common way to split up an alliance on WWE TV. The company decided to go in a different direction this time, though, as Trick Williams sat down with Carmelo Hayes in the locker room, telling him they aren't breaking up but Williams has to split from Hayes because he needs to become his own man and show the world what he can do by himself.

Hayes and Trick then embraced, showing there were no hard feelings, even if they won't be linked on WWE NXT TV moving forward.

Hayes and Williams have been aligned since September 2021 and they have enjoyed tremendous success together, with Hayes having multiple reigns as North American Champion before he finally captured the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver earlier this year. Williams has had a number of matches on NXT TV but he hasn't won a singles match on the Tuesday night show since July 2022.
