Raw Underground Match Set For WWE NXT

Raw Underground is coming back on WWE NXT

WWE are bringing back Raw Underground, just not actually on Monday Night Raw.

Damon Kemp and Eddy Thorpe have been feuding on NXT TV in recent weeks and Thorpe currently holds two wins over the former Diamond Mine member which prompted Kemp to challenge Thorpe to a rematch. Thorpe agreed and Kemp named a Raw Underground Match as the stipulation for their upcoming clash. The match will take place in a 20x20 ring without ropes and you can only win by KO, TKO, or submission.

Thorpe will have some help preparing for the match as Gable Steveson made his first appearance on WWE TV since late 2022 and offered to train Thorpe. Steveson, of course, is the real-life brother of Damon Kemp.

Steveson has been a WWE developmental talent since September 2021 and he has been training for professional wrestling alongside amateur wrestling. Steveson recently revealed his intentions to compete in amateur wrestling at the 2024 Olympic Games, having previously won a gold medal in Tokyo.

Raw Underground was a short-lived shoot-style fight club that aired during the third hour of Raw. The concept, hosted by Shane McMahon, was only around from August 3, 2020 until September 21, 2020 when the concept was abruptly scrapped following a COVID-19 outbreak within WWE. Vince McMahon was also reportedly "never fully on board" with Raw Underground.
