Reason For WWE 205 Live Cancellation Revealed

High flying wrestling action will return on 29th November

WWE announced late on 22nd November that Friday's episode of 205 Live had been cancelled, leading to speculation that the cancellation of the entire series was imminent. The episode was replaced by a re-run of Wednesday's episode of NXT.

There was some anger amongst the company's Cruiserweights, with NXT Cruiserweight champion Lio Rush tweeting: "The Cruiserweight division deserves better."

This isn't the first time this has happened. The 4th October episode of 205 Live was cancelled at short notice, and during WWE's recent tour of the UK, a planned episode was moved back across the pond, being recorded at NXT's Full Sail University.

205 Live fans don't need to worry however, as Friday's episode was only cancelled because of NXT's invasion of Friday Night Smackdown, in which the remaining members of D-Generation X led NXT Superstars to the ring from the back of a jeep. This, of course, paralleled their attempted invasion of WCW during the Monday Night Wars.

Ryan Satin tweeted: "In case it’s not evident at this point, sources implied to me earlier today that 205 Live was cancelled tonight due to the big end of show angle with DX leading an NXT invasion on SmackDown — not the show being in jeopardy of getting cancelled permanently."
