New IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion off the card...

Yesterday, New Japan Pro Wrestling
announced the blocksand the
full schedulefor this year's G1 Climax, with new IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley in B Block alongside Tetsuya Naito, Tomohiro Ishii, Juice Robinson, Toru Yano, Hirooki Goto, Jay White, Jeff Cobb, Shingo Takagi and Taichi.
However, NJPW followed up those announcements by announcing that Moxley will be missing the first night of the G1 Climax tournament, scheduled to be held in Dallas, Texas on July 6.
The reason behind the former WWE Champion being pulled out of the show was discussed on a recent episode of
Wrestling Observer Radio, where it was claimed AEW don't want their stars working NJPW shows in the United States.
Here's what Dave Meltzer said: “Jon Moxley’s deal is AEW has his rights in the United States. He’s free to work New Japan when it doesn’t conflict with AEW and he’s allowed to be in the G1, it’s fine but not US shows. AEW didn’t allow for that.”
Luckily for NJPW and Moxley, the G1 Climax show in Dallas will only consist of A Block matches. Moxley may have taken part in a multi-man tag, but it isn't the end of the world that he won't be present for the show.
