Report: AEW's Matt Jackson Dealing With A Knee Injury

As he heads into Full Gear...

Back in July, The Young Bucks' feud with The Butcher & The Blade came to a head in a Falls Count Anywhere match. To pick up the win, Matt Jackson hit a Flying Elbow on The Butcher through a table while Nick put The Blade through a table with a Senton Bomb.

The Young Bucks and The Blade were reportedly "banged up" after the match but both tag teams returned to action soon after and have wrestled multiple times over the last five months.

Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Matt Jackson has actually been injured ever since the match and is currently dealing with a partially torn MCL and a thinning ACL. This is also why he has been dealing with a storyline ankle injury during the feud with FTR.

Alvarez said: "The story with Matt is he has a partially torn MCL and a thinning of the ACL which is considered a slight tear. And so that's why they're doing the ankle gimmick. So, he has a legitimate injury and I guess he's been rehabbing it and I guess they figured they can do the match… Apparently it happened in the match with The Butcher And The Blade. Remember they did the dives off the stage? He did the Flying Elbow and injured the knee and he's been rehabbing it ever since."
