Report: AEW To Launch Its Own Podcast, Will Be Hosted By Tony Schiavone

The Wednesday Night Wars enter new territory...

Since the debut of AEW Dynamite on October 2nd, the young promotion has been embroiled in the Wednesday Night Wars with WWE.

While the war has been primarily fought on TV, with Dynamite and NXT going head to head on Wednesday Nights, the two companies have also engaged in peripheral skirmishes beyond TV.

Since AEW Vice President Cody Rhodes trademarked Bash At The Beach and the Dusty Rhodes name, both himself and WWE have been involved in a trademark land grab over old WCW and ECW pay-per-view names.

Back on October 17th, WWE announced their first-ever weekly podcast series, After The Bell, hosted by SmackDown announcer Corey Graves. The company believes the show has been so successful they have since launched a second podcast, Feel The Power, hosted by the New Day.

Now the Wednesday Night Wars will extend to podcasts, as Mike Johnson at PWInsider has reported that AEW is planning to launch its own podcast in conjunction with Warnermedia. Commentator Tony Schiavone will host the new show. The former WCW announcer already has experience hosting podcasts, as he is currently the presenter of What Happens When, where he discusses old episodes of Monday Nitro and WCW pay-per-views.
