Report: CM Punk Fined By AEW Over Post-Collision Promo On Hangman Page

A five figure slap on the wrist for Punk?

For those who believe AEW doesn't punish CM Punk for apparent infractions, there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.

While the 'Real World Champion' currently serves a suspension following his physical backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In, it has come to light that Punk was fined by AEW for his comments about Adam Page after the August 12 edition of Collision.

Once the show had gone off the air, the Straight-Edge Superstar grabbed the microphone and said:

"Earlier today, I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman. It's because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because no one wants to buy them. He's a peg warmer unlike me who moves merchandise and pops ratings and sells toys. Everyone in AEW says 'I'm the heart, I'm the soul, I'm the spirit.' Well that's objective".

According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it is believed Punk received a fine possibly in the five figure range for his comments. However, nobody has yet gone on record to confirm this.

It should be noted that the 44-year-old expressed remorse for the promo and subsequently texted an apology to Page. Punk supposedly intended his words to be humorous but quickly realised he got the tone of his delivery wrong.
