Roman Reigns was "hurt" at SummerSlam, with it noted the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion suffered an injury early on during his Tribal Combat Match with Jey Uso in the main event of the August 5 pay-per-view.

Details on Reigns' injury have been few and far between beyond that WWE's top star is still planned for tonight's SmackDown and him getting hurt at SummerSlam has not led to any changes to his creative. Reigns will appear on SmackDown tonight in a 'Hail to the Chief' segment with Jimmy Uso.

In an update from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, though, it was noted that Reigns sustained either a hip or back injury at SummerSlam. The injury occurred following a suicide dive from Jey Uso around five minutes into their Tribal Combat Match.

Reigns is expected to take some time off very soon, with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion not advertised to appear at WWE's upcoming pay-per-views in Payback, Fastlane, and Survivor Series. The Tribal Chief has gone on hiatus several times since re-signing with WWE in 2022 and agreeing to a part-time schedule.
