Report: Hangman Page Sent Away From AEW Collision 'To Keep The Peace'

Hangman Page banished from AEW Collision to "keep the peace"

CM Punk has been wielding his power on AEW Collision since the show debuted on June 17, with it emerging that Punk has blocked certain talents from being backstage at Collision tapings, including Ryan Nemeth, Matt Hardy, and AEW Manager of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels. Tony Khan has ultimately allowed CM Punk to have extensive control of Collision, something which has left top AEW talents concerned that the situation will only get worse.

There was also a situation with Hangman Page at the August 12 edition of Collision, with Page having been booked to record a pre-tape interview at the Greensboro Coliseum, where Collision was being taped, only to be told to film the interview elsewhere and not to come to the arena.

Reports have indicated that Punk was not directly involved with Page being sent away but the 44-year-old does appear to have been involved indirectly, with Page having been told not to come to the building in order "to keep the peace", according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Many within AEW also believe Page being sent away was Punk-related, although that has been both confirmed and denied by people within the promotion.

Meltzer speculated that due to the prior incident between Punk and Ryan Nemeth earlier in the day, AEW management may have told Page not to come to the arena "as tensions were very high at the point among at least some due to what happened with Nemeth."

Regardless, The Elite and CM Punk will likely be in the same building this coming Wednesday when AEW tapes a live edition of Dynamite and the August 26 edition of Collision ahead of All In.
