Report: NXT Wants To Bring Samoa Joe Back

Could the former champion return?

Though he was released from WWE back in April, there's an indication that Samoa Joe could return to the company as part of the NXT brand.

According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select, several individuals on the NXT side have heard about a push to bring Joe back, with some even believing that it's likely to happen.

Sapp writes, "Joe was released in April as a part of significant cuts to the roster, but there have been several wrestlers that people in the company have pushed to bring back. Over a half dozen talent in the company and another outside have heard that the interest on NXT's side is for a wrestling role.

"A few things we should specify, talent in a broad sense in speculating this, with some even believing that it's going to happen."

Joe has not wrestled since the February 10, 2020 episode of WWE Raw. The 42-year-old spent the next year-plus as part of Raw's broadcast team, with his last appearance coming on the call for WrestleMania 37. Joe was then released four days later.
