Report: Reason WWE Released Several NXT Talents Revealed

Why WWE released NXT talents revealed

WWE held their latest round of releases on Tuesday, November 1 and five developmental talents were let go, including Bodhi Hayward, Sloane Jacobs, Erica Yan, Damaris Griffin, and Ru Feng.

WWE releases within NXT are expected to be more of a regular occurrence as the company evaluates talent and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the main reason for the latest releases was a 'lack of progression' from the wrestlers. Bodhi Hayward's work ethic was also reportedly a factor in his release.

"The feeling was that for all the people who were dropped, the main reason was lack of progression - they thought they weren't improving fast enough. That's going to be the case - they're going to be cutting people at the six-month mark, at the one-year mark if they're not progressing at a certain level. Anyone who doesn't get to TV within two years will get cut. We're going to get regular developmental cuts. But with Bodhi Hayward, it was more than that. It was the work ethic," Meltzer said.

Hayward has since commented on his release, revealing that WWE told him he was not maximising his potential during a 45-second phone call to say he had been let go.
