Report: Several WWE Superstars Were Not Used On Raw

Despite being backstage

Multiple WWE Superstars pulled double duty on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw. Jeff Hardy ended up facing both Elias and Jaxson Ryker, while Keith Lee and Sheamus initially teamed together against The Miz and John Morrison before they got angry with each other and went one on one. Riddle was also defeated by Bobby Lashley in a United States Title match and decided to square off with MVP afterwards.

With so many wrestlers pulling double duty, some believed Raw must have been short-handed following the latest COVID-19 outbreak within the company.

This doesn't appear to have been the case, though. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Nikki Cross, Humberto Carrillo, Ricochet and Asuka were all backstage at Tropicana Field but were not used on the show.

Why WWE didn't pencil the Superstars into Raw is currently unclear, but Monday's show was hastily rewritten at the last minute following Drew McIntyre's positive COVID-19 test. The script for Raw's first hour reportedly had not been finished by 7 pm ET and the company only had a rough outline for what they planned to do in hours two and three.
