Report: WWE Interested In FTR

WWE are reportedly interested in bringing back FTR.

According to Bodyslam, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler signed four-year contract extensions with All Elite Wrestling in 2023 and FTR are approaching the option year in their deals. There is no sign that FTR will be exiting AEW anytime soon, but their futures are unknown beyond the current option year, with sources close to the situation noting FTR believe their work for the promotion should place them among AEW's top-tier acts financially.

There is at least preliminary interest from WWE and that interest has been communicated to FTR through mutual contacts. This comes at a time when WWE are reportedly looking to rebuild their tag team divisions on the main roster following the releases of the New Day, Motor City Machine Guns, and Wyatt Sicks, although reports have noted that WWE will primarily look to carry out that rebuild with wrestlers already on the roster.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler previously spent several years in WWE, teaming together as Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival from 2014 until the two sides agreed to a release in April 2020. The Revival ended their runs as two-time Raw Tag Team Champions, one-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions, and two-time NXT Tag Team Champions, but the tag team had long wanted to exit WWE by the time they received their releases, having originally asked to be let go in early 2019. This saw the team butt heads with Vince McMahon, who described The Revival as "just professional wrestlers."

FTR debuted for All Elite Wrestling in May 2020 and they have been one of the top tag teams in the promotion ever since. They are three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, with their third reign coming to an end at Double or Nothing on May 24. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have also enjoyed reigns with the ROH World Tag Team Titles, AAA World Tag Team Championships, and IWGP Tag Team Titles in NJPW.
