Report: WWE "Pushing Hard" To Re-Sign Daniel Bryan

The American Dragon's contract reportedly expired on Friday

After 11 years with WWE, Daniel Bryan is once again a free agent, according to reports from Fightful Select and Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer

Fightful noted The American Dragon's contract had either expired or was set to expire following his Friday Night SmackDown match against Roman Reigns last week. Meltzer then confirmed that Bryan's contract had indeed expired and WWE "is pushing hard for him to sign a new deal."

Bryan was defeated by Universal Champion Roman Reigns on last week's Smackdown and was banished from the blue brand as a result. The company seemingly wrote him off TV with a Con-Chair-To from Reigns and the leader of the Yes! movement was moved to the alumni section on WWE.com over the weekend.

If Bryan will re-sign with WWE ultimately remains to be seen. The multi-time world champion has talked about becoming a part-time wrestler in recent months so he can spend more time at home with his children. He has also been vocal about wanting to wrestle for other companies, particularly Mexican promotion CMLL at one of their Anniversary Shows.
