Report: WWE Trademark "Harlem Heat" Tag Team Name
A match with The Revival seemingly inches closer...
Jan 17, 2020
Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival berated Booker T after he neglected to mention them in his list of top tag teams. The Top Guys got in Booker's face and Dawson yelled: "After we win it (the SmackDown Tag Team Championships) for the fourth time why don’t you step up? Why don’t you get your better half, Stevie Ray, the one we respect. Get Stevie Ray!"
After this,
Stevie Ray tweetedthat he wasn't hard to find, to which
Dawson told himit wasn't 1997 anymore. While he was reserved at TLC, Booker T perked up at the idea of a Harlem Heat reunion on a recent episode of WWE Backstage, where he said he's "got one more in him."
Both teams have hinted that the match will take place at the Royal Rumble, which is in Harlem Heat's hometown of Houston, Texas on January 26.
Now the prospects of the match happening have seemingly increased as according to
Mike Johnson at PWInsider, WWE filed to trademark Harlem Heat on January 13 for merchandise purposes.
A Harlem Heat reunion would certainly entice fans to the Royal Rumble as the tag team has never competed inside a WWE ring. The WWE Hall Of Famers were one of the most successful teams in WCW history, however, capturing the WCW World Tag Team Championships on 10 occasions.
The trademark WWE filed is as follows: "IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pyjamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops, boots; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas."
