Rob Van Dam Reveals AEW Talent Do Actually Ask For Advice

Some of them, anyway.

Tully Blanchard made headlines last week when he claimed that AEW stars didn't ask veterans such as himself or Arn Anderson for advice a single time while he was with the company.

This stirred up a debate that Rob Van Dam has since chimed in on.

"To the credit of some of the boys in AEW, when I was there I did have some of them pick my brain [and] come up to me. So that's the other side," he said during a recent edition of his 1 Of A Kind With RVD podcast.

The WWE Hall of Famer said that several AEW talents made it known that they were fans of his work, adding:

"I've had them come up and say, 'Do you see anything that I could do better?'. That goes a long way. Does that mean that they all grew up watching and respecting me and not the generation above me? That's a lot of assumption but that's one perspective to take".

The 52-year-old also noted that he himself took time to speak to Blanchard while he was there and heard the same story about talent not reaching out to the former Horseman.

"I stopped to talk to him [Blanchard], I respect the f*** out of his work and I wanted to tell him. He was telling me that as long as he's been there none of the young guys have one time come up to him for any advice, how he would do something"

Van Dam has made sporadic appearances for AEW since the summer. It is unknown when (or indeed if) he will return, though both sides are open to working together in the future.
