ROH Match Stopped Due To Injury Scare

Injury scare during ROH TV tapings

A Ring of Honor match had to be stopped due to an injury scare on Wednesday, November 22.

Matches for ROH TV were taped before and after the live Thanksgiving Eve edition of AEW Dynamite at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. One of those matches was Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal vs. Cole Karter & Griff Garrison but the match came to an end via referee stoppage due to a possible injury.

During the match, Matt Sydal caught Cole Karter with a twisting splash but landed on his opponent's face which sent the back of Karter's head smashing into the canvas, PWInsider reported.

Karter is believed to have suffered a concussion and he was quickly checked by Doc Sampson after Christopher Daniels and referee Paul Turner realised something was wrong. The referee then called for the bell after it was ruled Karter could not continue.

Karter apparently took a long time to get out of the ring but he finally walked out under his own power. Daniels then put over Karter, noting it was a dangerous sport and while he and Sydal wanted to win, they didn't want to win in that manner.

Karter has been a part of AEW since the Summer of 2022. He was originally a part of WWE NXT in The Family with Tony D'Angelo and Stacks until his release in June of last year.
