Jan 11, 2025
The Royal Rumble PLE is the next major event on WWE’s calendar, and there are already some big names and matches announced. When it comes to the Royal Rumble matches themselves, the men’s match has seen entrants such as John Cena, LA Knight, CM Punk and Jey Uso all declare. They will now be officially joined by a former Royal Rumble winner, ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns.
On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, ‘The Wise Man’ Paul Heyman kicked off the show with a promo, and invited out the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Heyman offered his praise and respect for Rhodes, but revealed that following Reigns’ victory over Solo Sikoa on RAW’s Netflix premiere on January 6 where he won back the ula fala, he is now looking at reclaiming the Undisputed WWE Championship. To do this, he was officially entering the men’s Royal Rumble match.
This will be the first time since 2020 that Roman Reigns has competed in a Royal Rumble match, with every event since then seeing him defend world title gold. Reigns won the Rumble back in 2015 and has finished runner up in the years 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2020. It was revealed recently that the 2026 Royal Rumble event would be held in Saudi Arabia.
