Ronda Rousey Says She 'Has No Reason To Stay' In WWE

Ronda Rousey has teased a departure from WWE following her defeat at SummerSlam.

Ronda Rousey has teased her departure from WWE in a recent Instagram post, following her 'MMA Rules' loss to Shayna Baszler at last weekend's SummerSlam.

The former UFC star addressed Baszler in her post's caption, writing: "You were the reason I got into this business… Now I got no reason to stay."

Rousey and Baszler have a long history together, becoming friends during their respective MMA careers. Baszler was the first to break into the world of professional wrestling, signing with WWE in 2017 after just under two years on the independent circuit. She went on to have a successful run in NXT, twice becoming NXT Women's Champion before moving to the main roster.

Rousey made her WWE debut at WrestleMania 34, teaming with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. She and Baszler became WWE Women's Tag Team Champions in May of this year, but lost the belts when Shayna turned on her ally mid-match at Money in the Bank. This led to their SummerSlam bout, which Baszler won by technical submission after forcing Rousey to pass out.

It emerged following her SummerSlam loss that Rousey would be 'leaving' WWE. When she will return is unknown.
