The AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions continued on the Friday, September 9, episode of Rampage as Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin faced off in a first-round match.

Both men fought back and forth but Darby did not have Sting at ringside and that ultimately played into his downfall as interference from Anna Jay and Tay Melo influenced the outcome.

Allin looked set to connect with the Coffin Drop down the stretch but Anna Jay suddenly ran to the ring and distracted the official. Tay Melo then climbed onto the apron and grabbed Darby's foot before Guevara recovered, Low Blowed Darby, and proceeded to Powerbomb him on a Skateboard.

With Darby rocked, The Spanish God followed up with the GTH for the victory. Guevara will face two-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in the semifinals on next week's edition of Dynamite.

Also announced for Dynamite is a tag team match pitting Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida against Britt Baker and Serena Deeb. Already set for the show was another Grand Slam Tournament of Champions semifinal between Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho.
