Samoa Joe Talks About The Infamous Steiner Math Promo

Two takes? The numbers don't lie...

Señor Samoa Joe was the subject of one of the most infamous promos in professional wrestling history.

Scott Steiner unleashed his 'Steiner Math' promo on the May 1, 2008 edition of IMPACT to explain why he held the advantage in his upcoming triple threat match with Joe and Kurt Angle, a promo that would go down in infamy.

Speaking about the promo during a recent appearance on the Under the Ring podcast, the 'Samoan Submission Machine' noted that he was in the room for it and that it only took two takes:

"I was there for it live and it was hilarious. I was standing on the other side of the camera guy, laughing. To Scott's credit, I think it was only a two-take go and I think the first take was just because maybe Petey (Williams) broke because nobody was really expecting it. It was hilarious. Still is," Joe said.

In the end, Angle was removed from the match at Sacrifice and replaced with Frankie Kazarian.

'The Genetic Freak's numbers proved to be a miscalculation, as Joe won the match to retain his TNA World Heavyweight Title.
