SPOILER: AEW Referee Set To Wrestle At Future Show

Aubrey Edwards will be swapping the referee shirt for ring gear

An All Elite Wrestling referee will make their in-ring debut at an upcoming show, it was revealed during the promotion's taping of Rampage on Wednesday, June 7 in Colorado Springs.

Rampage opened with Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Karen Jarrett, and Sonjay Dutt making their way to the ring and JJ proceeded to call out AEW official Aubrey Edwards. Instead of Aubrey, though, Mark Briscoe headed to the squared circle and announced that he had worked out a six-person tag team match that will see the Sussex County Chicken team with Aubrey Edwards and Papa Briscoe against Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, and Jay Lethal.

When exactly the match will take place is unknown, only that it will be at a future AEW event.

While Edwards is primarily a referee, she took issue with Karen Jarrett hitting her over the head with a guitar at Double or Nothing. Mark Briscoe, meanwhile, is in a long-running programme with JJ's faction that saw the end of his friendship with Jay Lethal.

Aubrey Edwards has wrestled before, having performed as Gearl Hebner on a 3-2-1 Battle! show in August 2019. She and Dexter Beckett failed to defeat The Legion of Gloom at the event.

Papa Briscoe has also previously had one match in Ring of Honor back in 2014 that saw him and The Briscoes defeat Jay Lethal, Bobby Fish, Adam Cole, and J. Diesel.
