Swerve Strickland Says He Always Had "Great Experiences" With CM Punk In AEW

Swerve Strickland has fond memories of CM Punk in AEW

CM Punk’s time in AEW ended up being a controversial and infamous stint full of ups, downs, alleged fights, and more. Members of the AEW roster had differing experiences with Punk, and Swerve Strickland is someone who had nothing but positive interactions.

Speaking to Bootleg Kev, Strickland noted that there was nothing negative between himself and Punk in AEW.

"I was his last TV match. The All-Star tag match on Collision. I had great experiences with him. Didn’t interact with him a lot, but I always had positive interactions. My first day there, I was taking my photos and renders, and he jumped in and photobombed it. I never even spoke to him or had an introduction, but that was his first interaction to me. I was like, ‘This is cool, that’s dope.’ When I went out and did my contract signing, he was like, ‘How did it go?’ ‘It went excellent, thank you.’ He’s always been a positive influence with me."

Punk was terminated from AEW following an alleged incident at All In with Jack Perry, something Tony Khan was “really mad” per recent reports about due to it leading to Punk’s WWE return.
