A settlement has been reached in the civil lawsuit against WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported.
The estate of Julian Lasseter filed a lawsuit against Sytch, her former fiance James Pente, and Ultimate Motor Cars, LLC over the March 2022 traffic incident which led to Lasseter's death. A settlement has been reached in the case and Judge Mary G. Jolley ordered for the case to be closed in the next 30 days.
The lawsuit alleged negligence on the part of Sytch, that the Lasseter family had sustained medical and funeral expenses because of Sytch's actions, and that Lasseter's adult daughter "has suffered, and will suffer into the future, the loss of her father's companionship, instruction, guidance, and mental pain and suffering as a result of her father's death."
The lawsuit was seeking over $30,000 in damages. The exact terms of the settlement are unknown, but the case was set to go to trial on March 25.
Julian Lasseter, who was 75 years old, died following a traffic collision with Tammy Sytch in Volusia County, Florida on March 25, 2022 when Sytch rear-ended his vehicle. Sytch's blood alcohol level was over three-and-a-half times above the legal limit and an open bottle of vodka was found in her vehicle at the scene of the collision.
Sytch was sentenced in 2023 to 17 years in prison plus another eight years of probation over the traffic incident after pleading no contest to the charges of DUI causing death, driving with a suspended license causing death, four misdemeanour counts of DUI with damage to a person, and two misdemeanour charges of DUI with damage to property.
Sytch has since requested for her sentence to be shortened by serving her sentences run concurrently but a judge denied her request in January 2025.
