Tessa Blanchard Addresses Locker Room Reaction To Her TNA Return

Tessa Blanchard’s recent return to TNA sparked plenty of talk and controversy in the professional wrestling world given her controversial past and firing from the company previously. It was noted at the time that many of those in TNA were ‘baffled’ by this call from the promotion, and that some of the backstage reaction was unsavoury. 

Blanchard herself has now sought to dispel any rumours of a negative backstage reaction to her return in an interview with Kevin Kallam of Sportskeeda. 

"First and foremost, a lot of people, you can tell them the sky is green and they would believe it. There are a lot of stories and things out there that, I read it and, 'this came out of left field, I don't even know where they cooked this up.' There are some stories where there is 20% truth to something and some things got completely twisted in telephone, telegram, tell a wrestler. As far as the locker room, everyone is going to feel something or think something. A lot of people were fed a story from someone who is no longer with the company, that is completely not true and completely manipulated into something that it wasn't. Now, the conversations that I need to have, or feel I need to have, I'm having them.”

Blanchard went on to discuss the hardships she went through and the fact that she didn’t want anything to do with wrestling for a while. She went on to say that she thinks it is easier to let people have their own perceptions rather than to defend herself, and that the TNA locker room is much different now to what it was back during her previous run. 

This past week, WWE United States Champion Chelsea Green spoke up about Blanchard, branding her a ‘racist bully’.
