After men’s Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso officially selected World Heavyweight Champion Gunther as his WrestleMania 41 opponent on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair has followed suit on the February 14 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

During last night’s SmackDown show, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton put the title on the line against former champion and ally Nia Jax. However, interference on the part of Candice LeRae led to the match being thrown out by the referee. This led to Jax and LeRae attacking Stratton and the returning Trish Stratus, who ran out to provide some aid, setting up a tag team match at Elimination Chamber 2025. After the ambush had ended, Charlotte Flair emerged.

Flair set up a chair next to Stratton and announced she was officially selecting her for WrestleMania 41, setting up a first time ever match for the WWE Women’s Championship. This was the expected WrestleMania matchup, though WWE have pivoted in their plans following Flair’s negative reaction over the last few weeks, proceeding with her being heel instead of a planned babyface run.
