Fans will be set to see some big changes in the presentation of TNA Wrestling in the immediate future, as it has been reported that the promotion is altering its approach to blood on their programming and PPVs going forwards.

PWInsider have confirmed that TNA recently informed their talents that excessive bleeding and blading would now be banned - after the upcoming Dog Collar match between Steve Maclin and Eric Young on TNA’s weekly Impact show next week, which will be the final match to allow blood. It was noted that accidental blood is expected, such as a bloodied nose or mouth, and this would still be allowed, but purposeful bleeding was now being stopped, and it is likely to expect any accidental excessive bleeding will cause matches to halt until it has ceased.

The decision was reportedly made due to putting the health of wrestlers first, in addition to considering advertisers. TNA recently formed a working relationship with WWE - a promotion which has banned bleeding since way back in 2008 when WWE entered the ‘PG Era’. Under Triple H, WWE have been slightly more laid back when it comes to bleeding, but for the most part it is still rare.
