Tony Khan Produces AEW Casino Gauntlet On Dynamite

The Wednesday, May 29 edition of AEW Dynamite featured a Casino Gauntlet Match in the main event as talents vied for a shot at the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. 

According to Fightful Select, the Casino Gauntlet was outlined and coached by AEW President Tony Khan. The AEW CEO received assistance from QT Marshall, Colt Cabana, and Serpentico in putting the match together. Khan was ultimately the mind behind the Casino Gauntlet, having invented the match type for the April 24 edition of Dynamite.

Fightful noted that AEW have been very happy with the reception to the Casino Gauntlet so far. The April 24 Casino Gauntlet was ultimately won by Will Ospreay and the Aerial Assassin emerged victorious from the second match of its kind on May 29, outlasting Jay White, PAC, Mistico, Shota Umino, Lio Rush, Claudio Castagnoli, Orange Cassidy, and Hechicero. 

As a result of his win, Ospreay will challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title at Forbidden Door. The pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, June 30 at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. 

Tony Khan has been integral in laying out multi-man matches in the past, notably at Double or Nothing 2023 when he put together the 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royal.
