Tony Khan Would Consider New TNT Deal If It Was Right For AEW

"If there was a deal to be had, I would consider it. If we did something, it would have to be a really good deal for AEW."

Tony Khan has assured All Elite Wrestling fans that the promotion will be remaining on Wednesday nights for the for the time-being but admitted he would consider an alternative deal if 'there was something in it' for the promotion.

Turner Sports announced a seven-year deal with the National Hockey League on Tuesday, beginning with the 2021/22 season with Hockey traditionally broadcast on a Wednesday night, having held that spot for years.

The confirmation of the deal has led to speculation that AEW could be asked by Turner Sports to switch nights, although the announcement did not specifically mention which platform under the WarnerMedia umbrella the NHL would be on.

Khan is optimistic that AEW will remain in its home of Wednesday nights on TNT, but says he would be willing to discuss an alternative with the broadcaster so long as it worked for his company.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio on Wednesday, he said: "I know Wednesday night is our slot and our home. We have a great relationship - I’m thrilled with our partnership with TNT. It’s the lifeblood of our company. It’s our primary revenue source, and it’s the way most fans get exposed to AEW and see the show.

"And tonight and every Wednesday that we do Dynamite, for a lot of wrestling fans, it’s a really important night of the week. And so I want everyone rest assured that they’re not going to have to worry about these kinds of major...we have a contract, we have two and a half years left on it - over two and a half years left on it - for Wednesday nights in this slot.

"And if there was ever an opportunity to move, or if there was a deal to be had, I would consider it. If we did something, it would have to be a really good deal for AEW, it would have to make sense for us. But as it stands right now, that is the spot we’re in - tonight, 8 - 10 Wednesday nights on TNT. If we move, I would certainly consider a deal if there was something in it for AEW."
