Update On FTR's AEW Status Following Shock Title Loss

FTR are likely sticking around in AEW

In a shock result, FTR dropped their AEW World Tag Team Titles last night on AEW Collision to the fairly new team of Ricky Starks and Big Bill. The surprising nature of this result had led to some speculation about the status of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, and whether it means the plan was always to lose the belts, they’ve got one foot out the door, or if there are injuries at play.

A report from Fightful Select has shut down talk of FTR leaving AEW, revealing that their current deals last all the way up until 2027, and that presently all sides are working on good terms despite their affiliation with CM Punk and all his recent controversies. It was also noted that originally a match between FTR and number one contenders the Young Bucks was discussed for Full Gear, indicating that plans did in fact change for some reason.

The exact reasoning for this, whether it be an injury or something else, has yet to have been confirmed.
