Update On Matt Cardona's IMPACT Wrestling Status Following Bound For Glory

Don't expect to see Matt Cardona sticking around in IMPACT Wrestling

Matt Cardona made a shocking return to IMPACT Wrestling last night at the Bound For Glory PPV event. He showed up for the 20-person “Call Your Shot” Battle Royale. Cardona would team up with tag team partner Brian Myers, dominating the field, before turning on Myers and dumping him out. He was eventually eliminated by the winner of the match, Jordynne Grace.

Earlier this year Cardona stopped working with the company due to IMPACT Wrestling wanting to focus more on contracted talents, so due to Cardona not willing to sign with the promotion given his success as a freelander, the two parted ways.

Fightful Select has provided an update on the status of Cardona and his relationship with IMPACT, though it doesn’t seem as though the pair have come to a deal. This appearance was treated as a “one-off”, though the two sides are open to working with one another down the line, whenever that may be. Things were left on good terms earlier in 2023, so moments like this can still happen.
