Update On Rusev's WWE Future

Could the former United States Champion be on the brink of leaving the company?

Last week, it was reported by several sources that Rusev had requested some time off from WWE duty.

However, the former United States Champion was quick to rubbish those reports, tweeting out: “You have been fed the wrong information, Dirt sheets.”

It would appear that Rusev's absence from TV over recent weeks is down to another issue.

Those over at Wrestling Observer Radio have been discussing The Bulgarian Brute's WWE future, with Dave Meltzer revealing Rusev's current deal with the company is set to expire soon: “I think his deal is up relatively soon," he said.

Rusev's WWE career has come to a standstill over recent months as the 33-year-old has only managed to have 12 televised matches so far in 2019.

The most recent of those occurred Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, where RuRu was one of the 51 (yes, 51) men in the Battle Royal.

Rusev signed for WWE all the way back in 2010. He moved to the main roster in 2014 and faced John Cena at WrestleMania 31 in a huge singles match for the US title.
