Update On WWE Interest In Former AEW Talent

Several former All Elite Wrestling talents have already signed with WWE in 2025, including Aleister Black, Rusev, Ricky Saints, Blake Monroe, and Rey Fenix, and it emerged in recent days that WWE were interested in another former AEW wrestler.

Reports noted that WWE reached out to Leyla Hirsch about a potential tryout to join the company as a referee. News of the tryout was picked up by some within WWE in June, although it is unknown if the tryout has taken place.

In an update, however, it has been reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that WWE and those close to Hirsch have said she actually contacted WWE to express her interest in a referee position. WWE then approved the tryout for Hirsch, which suggests they are interested in utilising her in such a role.

Leyla Hirsch was a part of All Elite Wrestling from October 2020 until she departed the promotion in February 2025 when her contract expired. Hirsch has wrestled on the indies for the likes of GCW, Beyond Wrestling, and Black Label Pro since April.
