A long awaited match between The Rock and Roman Reigns appears more likely than ever before, with ‘The Great One’ recently returning to WWE and teasing that a clash with his cousin could be on the cards.

A match of such magnitude is surely bound for WrestleMania XL, although some have suggested that WWE could build positive publicity in overseas markets if they promoted the match at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer suggests that the plan could be Rock vs. Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes in a triple threat for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Mania. Meltzer added that any reports of Reigns vs. Rock happening in Australia are not accurate, as Reigns is not advertised for the show, has never been advertised for the show, and there are apparently no plans for Reigns to work Elimination Chamber as of the time of writing.

Regardless, whenever The Rock decides to step back into the ring it’ll be a headline-grabbing occasion, with the former WWE Champion having not had a ‘proper’ wrestling match since his second clash with John Cena at WrestleMania XXIX in 2013. Rock did squash Erick Rowan several years later at WrestleMania 32 in an ‘impromptu’ match.
