Update On WWE WrestleMania 40 Plans For Seth Rollins

What are WWE’s plans for Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40?

With the news that Cody Rhodes is indeed going to face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the upcoming WWE WrestleMania XL, thoughts turn to Seth Rollins, with the World Heavyweight Champion without an opponent after Rhodes made his decision.

Rollins was originally set to face CM Punk at WrestleMania, but plans were changed when Punk suffered a triceps injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Now a report from Dave Meltzer writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that Rollins will face whoever wins the men’s Elimination Chamber match in Perth on February 24.

As WWE were teasing Rhodes vs. Rollins, no official announcement could be made as to the outcome of the Elimination Chamber, with Meltzer expecting plans to move forward within the next week.

Despite suffering a torn meniscus and partially torn MCL earlier this year, the belief is that Rollins will be back in time for WrestleMania, with the two-night event set for April 6 and April 7. Rollins himself said that making his in-ring return in time for ‘the Showcase of the Immortals’ would be ‘no problem’.
