Will Ospreay Says MJF-Britt Baker Confrontation Was 'Completely Blown Out Of Proportion'

MJF-Britt Baker confrontation ‘blown out of proportion’ according to Will Ospreay

The recent suspension of Britt Baker from All Elite Wrestling became a major talking point in the wrestling world, with the former AEW Women’s World Champion suspended for her part in a backstage argument with MJF.

Initial reports claimed that MJF blew up after hearing of negative comments made towards him by Baker after his 59-minute International Championship Iron Man match with Will Ospreay on the July 17 edition of Dynamite, but Ospreay himself told NY Post that the whole affair is “the most completely blown out of proportion thing I ever seen in my entire life.”

Ospreay continued, "I am just trying to bring people together as a team. That’s all I can say. I’m fully aware people don’t like each other backstage. I know there are people backstage that I don’t like. My whole thing is that going forward we all need to be a team. We all need to look after one another."

One version of events suggested that MJF punched a wall in frustration after confronting Baker, with MJF learning of Baker’s derogatory comments from girlfriend Alicia Atout. Baker was said to have buried MJF and Ospreay’s bout, and later reportedly called Atout ‘a stupid f****** b****’ for relaying the comments to MJF.

MJF himself told Cultaholic that the whole situation was blown out of proportion. Baker’s suspension only lasted a couple of weeks, whilst MJF wasn’t suspended at all for his part in the situation.
