Will Ospreay On His Potential Match With CM Punk In NJPW

Could the dream match be on the cards...

Back in March, CM Punk revealed he would step back inside the squared circle if he was opposite an opponent that motivated him. When quizzed about who these opponents would be, The Voice Of The Voiceless said he would return to the ring to face John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, and Will Ospreay.

There is little chance of Punk wrestling in WWE anytime soon as it emerged that The Straight Edge Superstar has been labelled by Vince McMahon as the one man he can't do business with.

This leaves Punk's only option to return to the ring as New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Will Ospreay. Fans shouldn't get their hopes up, however, as during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Ariel Assassin revealed there is currently "nothing in the pipeline." Ospreay did say that he was talking to Punk on Instagram, but that ultimately "the only person who can make it happen is him."

The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion said: "It can happen. It can and the only person who can make it happen is him...I don't know how films work but I'm pretty sure if he was like 'Hey, I want to do one more match. I know we're filming but its January 4th. I'm giving you plenty of notice, can this happen?' I don't know how this works, maybe they'll be like 'No, we don't want you to get hurt.' Okay, whatever. But like, the only person that can make this happen is him."
