The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match has been set for August's NWA 74 pay-per-view and Trevor Murdoch will defend the gold against former champion Nick Aldis.

Aldis earned the title shot on Tuesday's edition of NWA Powerrr after winning a Four-Way against Thom Latimer, Mike Knox, and Brian Myers.

The worlds title match will take place on night one of NWA 74 on Saturday, August 27. The show will be held at the Chase Ballroom in St. Louis, Missouri.

Murdoch and Aldis had a trilogy of matches over the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title in the summer of 2021 and The Outlaw would end Aldis' 1043-day reign as champion in a Title vs. Career Match at NWA 73.

Murdoch is currently in his second reign as NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, having regained the gold at the Alwayz Ready pay-per-view on June 11 in a Four-Way that featured Aldis, Sam Shaw, and Thom Latimer. Matt Cardona had previously been champion but he was forced to relinquish the title due to a torn biceps.
