WWE Have "No Plans" For Raw Superstar

Another Superstar on Vince McMahon's trash heap...

On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Shayna Baszler sunk her teeth into Becky Lynch's neck, Aleister Black defeated Akira Tozawa, and The Monday Night Messiah and his disciples emerged victorious in the main event against Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and The Viking Raiders.

Another notable match during the show was Angel Garza vs. Cedric Alexander. Despite being injured from an attack by Humberto Carrillo, Garza was still able to pick up the win in 165 seconds after hitting Queen City's Favourite Son with The Wing Clipper.

Alexander's loss came during a period where the former Cruiserweight Champion has done little of note since losing a United States Championship match to AJ Styles back on September 30. Monday was his first appearance on Raw in almost two months and he has been jobbed out on Main Event to Riddick Moss and Mojo Rawley in recent weeks.

Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio this is ultimately because WWE have "no plans" for Alexander at the moment.

Meltzer said: "They’ve got no plans for Cedric. I mean he’s a talented guy but his number’s just not being called."

On the back of Meltzer's comment, Paul Davis at Wrestlingnews.co reached out to a source within WWE, who told him that Vince McMahon "sees nothing" in Cedric and gave up on him back in September, which is why he's being jobbed out. The source also noted that Paul Heyman was high on Alexander, but ultimately, McMahon overrode him to kill his push.

Davis wrote: "I asked someone in WWE about this and I was simply told that there are no backstage issues with Alexander but Vince McMahon simply does not see him as a big star. The source said, 'Vince will listen to Paul [Heyman] on some ideas but other times he can be close-minded and he sees nothing in Cedric. Vince gave up on him a long time ago.'"
